OCPD discuss rescue of stolen pup

Tuesday was National Dog Day. The Ocean City Police Department’s Animal Control Unit definitely had a reason to celebrate with the recent rescue of a dog stolen in West Virginia.
The unit in Ocean City was contacted by an animal shelter in West Virginia and said that a woman had stolen this dog named Foxie from a foster home in the state.
According to reports, they has information that the suspect was headed to ocean city with the pup. Police were able to track down the woman and the dog in Ocean Pines and took Foxie into their custody.
Lindsay Richard, the OCPD Public “She’s so sweet. It’s such a shame that she had to go through that experience, but we’re just really happy that our animal control officers are so dedicated. They made sure to get Foxie in a safe home.”
A local family is working with a West Virginia animal shelter to adopt Foxie. The suspect is reportedly facing theft charges in that state as well.
