Man accused of stealing power wheel chair in Cambridge

A Cambridge man is accused of stealing a power wheel chair from an apartment in Cambridge, and attempting to re-sell it.
Cambridge Police say on Sunday around 7:50 PM, Officers responded to a home on Race Street, for reports of a stolen wheelchair. Once on scene, Authorities reportedly found that someone had gone into the victim’s apartment, and removed their Handicap Power Wheelchair.
On Monday, Detectives say they learned that 30-year-old Gardnell Chester Jr., had tried to sell that same Power Wheelchair, on Muir Street. Police say they arrested Chester, and charged him with burglary 4th degree theft, theft less than $1,000, and theft scheme less than $1,000. It was also found that Chester was wanted on an Outstanding District Court Arrest Warrant for drug related charges, and was also served with that.
Chester is now behind bars a the Dorchester County Detention Center. The wheelchair was later reportedly returned to the victim.
