Man accused of hiding shot gun before attempted robbery in Ocean City

A Delmar, Delaware man has been charged, after he apparently tried to rob a pizza delivery person in Worcester County.

Ocean City Police say early Sunday morning, around 3:30 AM, Officers responded to report of a man with a shotgun near 4th Street and Washington Avenue. Police say once on scene, they located 28-year-old Lemarvis Trotter, who matched the description of the suspect, and took him into custody without incident.

While on scene, Police say a man who was delivering pizza, met with them, saying that he had been assaulted by Trotter. The victim reportedly told Police that Trotter had put the shotgun into a trash can, before walking up to him, then trying to pick-pocket and assault him.

Police say they searched the area, and found the shotgun, a Remington 870 20-gauge, in a nearby dumpster.

OCPD say they have charged Trotter with attempted robbery, second degree assault, possession of a concealed weapon, disorderly, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is now being held at the Worcester County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
