Laurel woman indicted in daughters death in court

A Laurel woman, indicted for her daughter’s murder, was in court Tuesday in Georgetown.

According to the Delaware Department of Justice,  a public defender entered a not guilty plea on behalf of Detoshia Spence.

Spence apparently didn’t speaking during the hearing.

The 23-year-old mother faces multiple charges including first degree murder by abuse or neglect for the death of her three-year-old daughter. Her charges stem from an incident at the Carvel Gardens apartment complex, back in April. Investigators revealed that the manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Spence is still in custody.
