Increasing health awareness in the Latina community

Saturday Girls Incorporated of Delaware partnered up with Beebe Healthcare as part of their Latina outreach program.

The free event at La Iglesia Dios Maranatha in Seaford offered health screenings, educational programs and a discussion on how to manage chronic illnesses such as diabetes. 

Although Girls Incorporated mission is to provide programming and advocacy services to all girls, their Latina Outreach program targets Latinas ages 6 through 18.

“Were not just about  the education world, we’re about the physical health, the mental health and all of those things and helping the families to better address some of those chronic conditions,” said  Holly Maddams, Girls Inc. of Delaware Executive Director.
