Fire at Exmore’s Sage Diner under investigation

Officials with the Exmore fire department have confirmed that a local restaurant has suffered severe water damage after a fire last night.

We’re told they got the call about the blaze inside the Sage Diner around 10:15 Saturday evening.

According to reports, crews were on the scene for five hours, and it took about an hour and a half to get the flames under control.

There were apparently several hot spots.

Two firefighters were treated and released from the hospital for heat exhaustion and smoke inhalation.

The cause of the actual fire is under investigation.
