Dow falls again, amid slump in US Markets

The Dow ended in the red again, just a day after suffering the worst loss in four years.

The Dow closed with a loss of 205 points Tuesday, after the day began with a 442-point surge.

And following Monday’s 1,000-point loss, in the last six trading days the Dow has lost a total of nearly 1,900-points.

According to CNN, this trend is the latest sign of how anxious markets have become about the health of the global economy. But as bad as the last few days have been, officials say, it was a lot worse at one point.

“In November or October of 2007 it was over 14,000 so in about an 18 month period the U.S. Stock market lost more than 50% of its value,” says Dr. Tylor Claggett, professor of finance in Salisbury University’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, “So compared to that event this event is pretty small.”

Dr. Claggett says he feels the market will rebound, just as it has done in the past.
