Dover Police arrest 6 following riot

Six people were arrested in Dover over the weekend, after Police say they were involved in a large fight.

Dover Police say on Saturday night around 8:30 PM, they responded to reports of a large fight involving 50 people, in the Manchester Square neighborhood. As Officers responded and attempted to break up the fight, Police say a large crowd started to gather, which quickly became disorderly and hostile towards Police.

Dover Police says they called for assistance with the situation, and Officers from the Cheswold, Camden, Smyrna, and Delaware State Police Departments helped disperse the unruly crowd. Police made six arrests, including a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old who were later turned over to their parents.

Others arrested include, Keon Cornish, 21, of Dover for riot, resisting arrest, offensive touching on police officer, and loitering. He is being held on no bail, as it was revoked from previous charge. Eric Steward, 23; Lewis Harrell, 24, and Antwon Peace, 18, all of Dover, were charged with riot, offensive touching, and loitering, and released.
