Bicyclist injured in crash in Easton

A bicyclist is recovering, after apparently being hit by an SUV in Easton on Monday.

Easton Police say just after 9:10 PM, Officers responded to the intersection of Ocean Gateway – Route 50 and Chapel Road for reports of a crash involving a bicyclist.

According to the report, the initial investigation showed that 18-year-old Marquan Brummell of Easton, was riding on Chapel Road, and attempted to cross Ocean Gateway, against a red light.

Police say as Brummell came up to the eastbound lane of Route 50, he was hit by a 2005 GMC Envoy, who had a green light.

The driver of the Envoy was apparently uninjured, but Brummell apparently had lacerations on his head, and arm. He was rushed to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment, where he is expected to remain for about another day.

Police say their investigation is continuing at this time.
