Aug. 4 – SO SAD Backpack Drive

SO SAD Outreach Ministry is sponsoring a Backpack giving along with food, games, and music. This event is being sponsored to assist some of the needy families and at risk youth within our local community.

SO SAD Outreach Ministry’s focus is to provide some positive activities for the local youth. We thought giving the children an opportunity to celebrate going back to school, would spark excitement about first day and the weeks to follow as they begin their new school year.

SO SAD Outreach Ministry started in 2008 as a result of the growing violence among our local youth. A rising in the number of senseless murders and then one shooting incident after another, signified an opportunity for interested people to step up. We have given about 3000 pounds of food since 2008 to help stretch the budget of some needy families during Easter and Christmas break. We have provided 308 Backpacks with school supplies since 2009. With the support of our state co-workers, friends, and family, our endeavor is to make a difference in the lives of the youth in Delaware and eventually America!!

We are asking the general public to help us make 2015-2016 school year a little more promising for some local boys and girls. We still need more Backpack and school supplies!!
