Apple Discount Drugs now offers safe pill disposal

In collaboration with the Wicomico County Health Department, Apple Discount Drugs in Fruitland has installed a medicine disposal box.

You can get rid of any expired or unwanted medications a new MedSafe box.

The box is only for pills, not syringes, aerosol sprays, or liquids.

If you plan to participate, be sure to remove any personal information from the pill vials and containers.

Apple Discount Drugs president Jeff Sherr tells 47 ABC, that while he encourages everyone to make use of the new disposal box, the program is a must for the elderly.

“They need to make sure that those medications are secure because family members, whether they’re children or other people, that come into the house will take advantage and try to get a hold of some of those medications.”

The Fruitland location is the only Apple Discount Drug location to offer this service
