Work release offender sought in Dover

The Delaware Department of Correction reports that a work release offender assigned to the Morris Community Corrections Center in Dover, failed to return to the facility.

Authorities say Jason McKenna, 44, of Dover, left the facility Monday, July 6, 2015, on an authorized work pass.  McKenna reportedly failed to return later that evening, and after a search by authorities, an escape warrant for his arrest was issued.

Officials say ongoing attempts to make contact with McKenna have been unsuccessful.

McKenna, also known as Jaybird, is described as a white male, 5’06”, with brown hair and hazel eyes, and tattoos on left arm, back, and right shoulder. He is serving a sentence of level 4 work release for a violation of probation on a burglary conviction.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call (800) 542-9524 or their local police department.
