Wicomico Tourism to host Geocache Dash on August 22

A local county is bringing back a fun event, that is aimed at exploring the area, for its fifth year.
Wicomico County Recreation, Parks, and Tourism says on August 22nd, it will once again host the Geocache Dash and Bash. The day starts at Schumaker Park from 8 – 10:00 AM, where cachers may pick up Dash passports, area maps, and download trail coordinates.
Officials say the Dash is an introduction to Wicomico County’s “Hidden Treasures,” and can easily be completed in one day. The event is free, family-friendly, pet-friendly, and open to the public. For those daring cachers, there are even two boat-only caches, so cachers can experience Wicomico’s waterways. Kayaks will be provided free of charge for these.
During the Dash, cachers keep track in their Dash Passport system; the first 100 cachers who complete the Dash, and turn in their passport, will earn a trackable GeoCoin.
After cachers fill their passports, they can go back to the park for the Bash, from 12 until 4:00 PM. There will be other cachers from near and far, share adventure stories, and even win door prizes. There will also be games to play including disc golf, corn hole, Kan Jam, and ladder toss. Cookout food will apparently also be available for purchase.
