Wicomico hands Worcester their second loss in consecutive days

Jack Goertzen scored the second, and knocked in the third run of the game for Post 94, giving them the offensive spark they needed to defeat Post 166 out of Worcester County 8-4.
Brandon McKenzie scored Post 166’s first run of the game in the top of the first inning, leaving Wicomico in unfamiliar trailing territory. Wicomico responded hastily in the bottom of the second, totalling three runs in the frame. Michael Jean-Charles knocked in LaBron Hilliard to tie the game up at 1. After reaching base on a bunt single, Goertzen scored on an RBI single by Chase Harding. Goertzen came to the plate in the second inning and blasted an RBI single to score Brooks Carey, and also had a double in the fourth to lead 64.
The loss gives 166 back-to-back losses in consecutive days, after they lost yesterday to Somerset. Wicomico travels to Queen Anne’s County to take on Kent-Queen Anne’s on Saturday, July 11th. Worcester hosts Dorchester the same day, in Berlin.
