UPDATE: Walkaway Delaware inmate back in custody

A Delaware inmate who reportedly walked away from a corrections facility earlier in July, is back in custody.

The Delaware Department of Correction announces that 44-year-old Jason McKenna, didn’t return to the Morris Community Correction Center, from an authorized work pass on July 7.

An escape warrant was issued for his arrest, and on July 9, he turned himself into the Smyrna Police Department. He was arrested, and taken to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center where he is being held on $5,000 cash bail.

McKenna is serving a sentence of level 4 work release for a violation of probation on a burglary conviction.
