UPDATE: Salisbury hostage suspect’s case headed to grand jury

59-year-old Harry Jones, of Salisbury, MD

In Salisbury on Thursday morning, 60-year-old Harry Jones made an appearance in the Wicomico County District Court for a preliminary hearing.

Jones’ hearing was postponed today so his case could be seen before a grand jury. The judge says this must be done before July 29. Jones didn’t appear to show much emotion while in the court.

He is facing fourteen charges including false imprisonment, assault, kidnapping, and rape, just to name a few. According to court documents, a Crisfiled woman claims Jones held her in his home on Keyes Lane in Salisbury, tied her up, and sexually abused her.

The woman says she was able to escape by using wire cutters to snip zip ties on her ankles, while Jones was at the store. She made her was to Old Ocean City Road where police were contacted.
