UPDATE: One killed in serious crash in Georgetown

Delaware State Police say they responded to the scene of a serious crash on Savannah Road near Rudd Road in Georgetown, on Monday morning, which left a Millsboro man dead.
According to the report, 32-year-old Troy Bradford, was driving a 2000 Dodge Neon on Savannah Road, near Rudd Road, just north of Georgetown. Police say Bradford was driving fast, on a curving slick roadway.
The back of Bradford’s car apparently lost control in a sharp curve, turning it to rotate counterclockwise, leading him to over-correct right. Police say the neon then drove off the roadway, into a densely wooded area, where it hit a large tree. The tree reportedly penetrated substantially into the driver’s seat, causing massive trauma to Bradford.
The incident reportedly happened around 11:30 AM. Only one vehicle was apparently involved. Police say Bradford was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, but his injuries were extensive, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The roadway was closed for about two and a half hours, according to Police, while the crash was investigated by the DSP Collision Reconstruction Unit, and cleared. The crash reportedly remains under investigation. Police say on Tuesday, from 9 to 10:00 AM they will be forensic mapping, and Savannah Road will be down to one lane, causing delays.
