UPDATE: Officials confirm fire at Harpoon Hanna’s

Officials from the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company have confirmed a fire at Harpoon Hanna’s restaurant.

Bethany Beach VFC, Millville VFC, Ocean City VFC and Roxana Fire Company all responded Thursday afternoon.

Officials from the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company tell 47 ABC the blaze originated in a utility closet area and was under control in about 45 minutes.

Authorities say customers were evacuated as the restaurant filled with smoke. Harpoon Hanna’s reportedly closed after the incident as that investigation continued.

Fire officials say there were no injuries, and the Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is continuing to investigate.
