UPDATE: Man charged in Milton crash

Police say 55-year-old Ray Richardson of Lewes is facing multiple charges following a head on crash on Cave Neck Road near Milton.

According to Delaware State Police, in his pick-up truck, Richardson crossed over into the center lane of Cave Neck Road and struck 28-year-old Elisandro Rodriguez-Perez of Millsboro, who was also driving a pick-up truck.

We’re told Rodriguez-Perez was taken to Beebe Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say Richardson was also taken to Beebe, but was then flown to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where he is listed as in critical but stable condition.

In a release, Delaware State Police say in addition to charges of driving under the influence and 2nd degree vehicular assault, Richardson is also facing other traffic charges.

Troopers say both directions of Cave Neck Road were shut down for two hours during the investigation and have since been cleared.
