UPDATE: Homicide suspect has bond review

A caregiver arrested Saturday in connection to a suspected homicide in Fruitland appeared in court via video Monday for a bond review.
The bond for Becky Long, 44, remains at one million dollars. Long was arrested July 18 after police reportedly responded to her home on Morris Drive on July 16 to find the victim, Mary Ellen Bonniwell, dead.
Autopsy results from the Medical Examiner’s Office reportedly showed a broken hyoid bone, numerous fresh bruises, swollen hemorraging from the inside portions of her mouth, which were apparently consistent with asphyxiation.
According to court documents, Long confirmed she was Bonniwell’s primary caregiver and admitted she had a fight with Bonniwell on July 14 over her “telling lies”.
We’re told Bonniwell’s death has been ruled as a homicide.
Long has been committed to the Wicomico County Detention Center and is expected to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on August 20.
