UPDATE: Assistant Principal accused of sexual abuse held on bond

The Milton man accused of sexually assaulting three young girls waived his preliminary hearing Thursday.

According to The Delaware Department of Justice, Edward Husbands asked for a bond hearing Thursday. The judge set bond at $55,000, which Husbands did not post, so he’s still in jail.

Husbands, an assistant principal at Benjamin Banneker Elementary School in Milford, was arrested after police say one of his alleged victims came forward last week.

An investigation reportedly revealed Husbands had inappropriately touched the victim as well as two other female victims on separate incidents while they were spending the night at his house in Milton.  Two victims were reportedly 10-years-old, the other 11.

Husbands is facing numerous sex abuse charges, he’s on leave with pay pending the investigation.
