Two charged with shooting man in Federalsburg

30-year-old Jerry Murat, and 26-year-old Tionne Austin, both of Federalsburg, MD

Two men have been arrested, in connection with the shooting of a third, back in June.

Caroline County Sheriff’s Office says on Thursday around 6:55 PM, Deputies and Troopers from the Maryland State Police, responded to a home on Brooklyn Avenue, for reports of a shooting.

Once on scene, law enforcement says they found a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound, and rushed him to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, where he was then listed in stable but critical condition, and treated for a single gunshot wound. Investigators say their investigation found that 30-year-old Jerry Murat, and 26-year-old Tionne Austin, both of Federalsburg, were responsible for the shooting.

On Friday, the Maryland State Police Fugitive Apprehension Team reportedly picked up Murat in Dorchester County, and Austin in Somerset County. Both were then charged with 1st degree attempted murder, 1st degree assault, and other related charges, and are now being held at the Caroline County Detention Center, without bond.
