SU’s Master Plan update

Salisbury University’s Master plan is currently underway and it consists of two major projects that are currently ongoing.
The Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons is still under construction and due to weather conditions, officials say the project is a bit behind schedule. As of right now construction workers are doing brick work and are working on the interior of the building and we’re told the building is expected to be completed by the fall semester of next year*
With the many rooms going into it including a library, a center for student achievement, and a writing center, it’s sure to be a big hit on campus.
47 ABC spoke with Associate Vice President of Facilities and Capital Management Eric Berkheimer and he tells us, “It’s meant to be a space in a building where people can come collaborate from all departments all schools all majors. Certainly this is transformational we think for us certainly on the academic side having the new library that’s state of the art is a giant leap from what the Blackwell Library has been for many years.”
The second largest project on campus, Seagull stadium, which is costing the school $19 million, is set to give athletes more space and better technology for game casting. That is set to be finished next February just in time for spring sports such as lacrosse.
