then sunset grille in west ocean city is your place. there’s live music, several seating choices, including my favorite, the bridge… and of course there’s fresh seafood and more outstanding food choices. take a look. track 1- sunset grille is neatly nestled at the sunset marina in west ocean city… and in business for more than a decade….this summer oasis has something for everyone. 05:35:37- :35:50 this is coming into our 11th year. we are a marina restaurant and a bar. we specialize in eastern shore seafood, steaks. it’s probably one of the most beautiful properties track 2- a beautiful property indeed…. that features 4 bars, 2 sitting rooms, 2 dining rooms and several outdoor seating areas. and while it may be spread out… now…buddy says it didn’t start out that way. 05:35:59- 36:07 we started off small and we just grew over the 11 years. every year we’ve added another bar or another part of the restaurant so it’s just grown over the years. track 3- chef, jeff remenapp has been with sunset grille for seven seasons and he says he enjoys creating dishes that reflect life on the eastern shore. 05:55:14- 55:19 well, everybody here wants crab so you just do a play on dishes with crab. track 4- for example, the very popular tempura battered soft shell crab served with corn relish and a spicy remoulade sauce. 05:54 :23- 54:33 this is our house made cured bacon, the greens and corn are produced by a local produce company, baywater greens outside of salisbury. track 5- and the southern girl in me was drawn to another popular dish at sunset grille. 05:53:12- 53:34 our fried green tomatoes with our spicy crab remoulade. it’s 3 fried green tomatoes; tossed in an egg wash and then our floured bater; old bay, lemon pepper and salt and pepper. it’s very easy; fry up the green tomatoes then we stack it with our spicy crab remoulade in 3 different layers. track 6- and then there was the eastern shore blue crab cobb salad…served with plenty of local ingredients 05:54:55- 55:05 fresh cucumbers, roasted tomatoes, local corn, blue crab cobb meat, avocado and served with a poppyseed dressing track 7- with such inviting menu options, it’s no wonder buddy had this to say to folks who haven’t experienced sunset grille 05:36:18- 36:27 if they haven’t been here and they come, they’ll realize how beautiful it is and what a great marina and restaurant oc has. there are a lot of other great restaurants in oc also track 7- and while that is true…in this moment, it was all about sunset grille…and these fried green tomatoes…i’m going in… 05:57:20- 57:32 it really is so good. it really is delicious. it’s excellent! it had just the right amount of crunch an spice and flavor and the tomatoes were perfect! now, i do want to mention that sunset grille was the 2011 restaurant of the year for the state of maryland and buddy, the owner, was recently awarded the 2015 restauranteur of the year for the state of maryland. i went here over the fourth of july weekend and it really was a great way to spend an afternoon…just looking at the bay and over to the beach side and some gorgeous yachts too! they’re open 7 days a week from 11 a.m. until late evening. and join us next week for another great round of cooking in kitchen insider. stay tuned… more news and weather straight
