Somerset strong-arms Worcester to take victory

Post 94 out of Somerset County defeated Post 166 out of Worcester County, 14-8 in Legion Summer Baseball action Tuesday afternoon in Berlin.

Joel Goldsborough got things started for Post 94, striking a seeing-eye single thru the right side of the infield, scoring Ben Hudsdon. Brandon McKenzie kept Post 166 in the game, forcing an error and a run to score for his team, also scoring a run an inning later, giving Worcester a 4-3 lead. Kyle Bauman hit a liner just past the glove of the diving third baseman for an RBI single, scoring Bruce Emely, and giving Somerset a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Worcester is back in action Wednesday, traveling to take on Wicomico, while Somerset is off for more than a week, returning to play next Thursday.
