SG United Rally Behind The Genshaws

Travel ball is typically about gathering together the best athletes to win big tournaments and get looks from college coaches. However, one of Delmarva’s very own team’s, SG United, is playing this weekend for something more important than any win.

The Gelof family provided jerseys and hats for SG United (Scott Genshaw United) to honor Scott Genshaw who battled a rare form of cancer for 7 years after passing away in February. Scott Genshaw was a long-time travel baseball fan and loved going to games to cheer on his son, Jason, and his daughter, Lauren, paired with his wife, Terri.

In 2008, Scott was diagnosed with precursor B-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia, which is a rare form of lymphoma. However, the cancer went away, but fought its way back several times. The wonderful baseball community has rallied behind the Genshaw’s to help after the passing of Scott, a wonderful and dedicated father, husband, son, and friend.

His legacy will forever live on through his family and friends.
