Salisbury man accused of kidnapping and threatening to kill woman

A Salisbury man is behind bars, after investigators say he kidnapped a woman, and put a knife to her throat, threatening to kill her.
The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says on Wednesday around 10:45 AM, a woman got into an argument with 50-year-old Ivan Curtis, at a home on Westover Drive. According to the report, during the argument, Curtis hit the woman in the face, and then grabbed her by the throat. Investigators say Curtis then forced the victim into his car with a knife to her throat, all while implying that he was going to kill her.
Curtis then apparently drove to a secluded area, where he reportedly dragged her into the woods, and continued to threaten to kill her. The victim reportedly told the Deputy that Curtis had driven her back to the house, before he fled, and the Deputy arrived.
The Deputy apparently found signs of injury that corroborated with the victim’s account. Curtis was later located, and arrested. He was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault 1st degree, reckless endangerment, and dangerous weapon. After an initial appearance, he was ordered to be held at the Wicomico County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.
