Police: Woman drives stolen vehicle back to police lot

43-year-old Cuve Harding, of Hockessin, DE

(AP) – A Delaware woman has been arrested after authorities say she tried to return a stolen city-owned truck to the same police parking lot it had been stolen from.

Authorities say 43-year-old Cuve Harding, of Hockessin, was arrested at New Castle County Police Headquarters on Tuesday and is accused of stealing, and later crashing, a Delaware City Fire Department pickup truck from the poice headquarters.

Police spokeswoman Tracey Duffy says video surveillance shows Harding stealing the truck from the lot.

Duffy says Harding was involved in a hit-and-run crash that morning.

Duffy says an officer later spotted the vehicle and tried to stop it when Harding returned to the headquarters’ parking lot.

Harding faces multiple theft charges and traffic offenses. It was not immediately clear if she has hired an attorney.
