One arrested after reported Hurlock hammer assault

A Hurlock woman has been charged, after Police say she attacked another woman with a hammer.
The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office says on June 7, Deputies responded to a home on Ridge Crest Road, for reports of an assault. Once on scene, Investigators say they found that 44-year-old Emily Butler, had gone into the house, and attacked the woman inside with a hammer. She reportedly hit the victim several times during the incident.
Butler was then arrested, and charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, and 3rd degree burglary. She was then ordered to be held on a $75,000 bond. The victim was treated at the scene by EMS, but refused to be taken to the hospital.
