New VA deer hunting regulations

Virginia deer hunters will have to abide by a new set of rules starting July 1.

Possession or use of scents that contain deer urine  or other bodily fluids used to lure wildlife will now be illegal according Virginia lawmakers.

The reason for the ban is to prevent the spread of chronic waste disease or CWD, according to Virginia’s department of game and inland fisheries.

The disease is fatal for deer and the department says it could lead to significant declines in deer population if it spreads.
