Man dead after falling off deck in Newark

Newark police say a 20-year-old man is dead after he fell off a back deck and struck his head.

Police say the victim, who was a University of Delaware student, was socializing with friends on a back deck when he fell. Police say emergency personnel were called to the scene at around 5 a.m. on Sunday. Police say the man was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are withholding the man’s name, and say no foul play is suspected.
