A magical peach! Insect friends! And an incredible journey! Roald Dahl’s classic story comes to life in this dramatized version by Richard R. George. After James’s parents are met with a cruel death, James is sent to live with his two horrid aunts, Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker who are faced with a suitable sticky end. James meets friends such as the wise old green grasshopper and the pessimistic earthworm. While James and the insects get the peach out of danger, along the way meet an odd captain and his crew and even cloudmen! The story shows there is wickedness in some, goodness in others, and the indecision of people when faced with crisis.
The show is put on by kids for kids, with a cast ranging from the ages of 5-18. The directors are Ben Wilcox, Alexis Waddey, and Jimmy Martin. All aspects of the showare done by children, from the costumes, sets, lighting, sound, to the actors. The children have put a fantastic show together.
So come on down to the Riverfront theatre July 31st (pay what you can admission!), August 1st, and 2nd to come see a show where by the end you’ll be leaving saying, “Terrifico! Magnifico! Splendifico! What a show!”
