Jul. 27 – Caroline-Dorchester County Fair
Come one, come all! It is time for the Caroline/Dorchester County Fair! We are growing by leaps and bounds. There is something for everyone to do, so come check us out August 5th -8th at the Caroline County 4-H Park located on Rt. 16, just outside of Denton. Bring your family and friends and have a blast.
As mentioned there is something for everyone. For the animal lovers there will be livestock topped off by an auction, a pet contest, and a dress a goat contest. 4-Hers as well as adults will have “the fruits of their labor” on display so come and see if you agree with the judge’s ribbon placement. On Wednesday night there is a Cake Auction where you can bid on some very creative and delicious cakes. There will be food available to interest all pallets, and a special dinner each night. There will be entertainment…music, magic, and amusements, as well as many contests that include crowning fair royalty and a Baby Contest. There are a few special days that need mentioning. Wednesday August 5th is free admission, please say thank you to the Caroline County Chamber Of Commerce for sponsoring this special night. Thursday August 6th is the Fair Board’s way of giving back to the Community, because if you bring a canned food item for the MD Food Bank admission in only $1. Thursday is also Children’s Day from 9am -1pm, story time is at 11 am, 12 pm is games and from 9am-1pm all amusement rides/are a $1.00.
To make the fair bigger and better the Fair Board is working with SKM Productions to bring Nashville recording artists Doug Stone, and Craig Campbell with opening act “The Cheaters” ( Sat. Aug 8th 7-10 pm, separate admission fee). On Friday August 7th we will welcome back Captain Edgar Hansen as featured on the Discovery Channel’s, “Deadliest Catch” from 5-8 pm., and the group The Hired Guns will perform between 7pm and 10pm. A local favorite, The Jones Boys will be playing Thursday night. Another local group, Kindred Spirits, will be preforming Saturday from 4pm to 7pm.
