Indian River School District to leave DSBA

After 30 years. the Indian River School District says it will not renew its membership with the Delaware School Boards Association for the 2015-2016 school year.

The board tells 47 ABC that it came to that decision unanimously on Monday after deciding it was unnecessary to pay over $13,000 in yearly dues.

As one board representative put it, they just weren’t getting the bang for the buck.

The board also felt that the DSBA was not fairly representing Indian River when negotiating with legislators on a number of occasions.

There are 18 remaining members of the association.
