How Gov. Markell spent “Governor’s Day” at the DSF

Thursday was “Governor’s Day” at the 2015 Delaware State Fair, and Governor Jack Markell was quite busy.
Some of his many stops included multiple 4H contests, a bill signing, barn tours, lunch with international merchants, and a DNREC awards ceremony.
Taking some time out of his busy day, the Governor stopped by the 47 ABC set inside of Exhibit Hall.
There, he explained why he thinks the fair is such a special event.
“There’s so many people that come to the fair every year. They’ll take a week or 10 days off of work, they’ll stay here, because to them this is family.” And “It’s just unbelievable to see the talent and amount of time that people spend the amount of time on these exhibits, so I always love that.” said Gov. Markell.
The Governor, who is a Newark native, also told 47 ABC that he has not missed a fair since 1997.
