Fatal crash confirmed in Talbot Co.

Maryland State Police have confirmed a fatal accident Sunday night on Route 404 near Owen’s road.

According to police, Cecil Meritt was attempting to pull out onto Route 404 from Owen’s Road when his car was hit by another vehicle. He apparently died as a result of the crash.

At this time, police could not confirm whether charges were pending or if alcohol or speed was a factor. The investigation is ongoing
