Easton townhomes damaged in fire

Officials with the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s office says they responded to a town-home fire early Thursday morning in Easton. Officials tell 47 ABC, due to careless discarding of smoking materials on the porch of one townhome, flames ripped through it spreading to four others.

Responding fire companies including Easton, Oxford, St. Michaels as well as Preston, were on scene at 28477 Pinehurst Circle in Easton, and in total, 60 firefighters battled the blaze.

Total damages on the home the fire started in are $125,000 with $25,000 in personal property damage. The four other homes reportedly suffered fire damage as well and damages are estimated at $200,000.

Nobody was injured in the fire, and the cause is deemed accidental.
