Easton man charged for leaving kids in car at Wal-Mart

The Easton Police Department say they have charged a man who allegedly left two young children alone in a car at Wal-Mart.

Police say on June 27th, they were called to the Easton Wal-Mart on Elliot Road at about 6:00 PM, for reports of children being left unattended in a vehicle. When officers arrived, they located a Chevrolet Impala that had an 8-year-old and a 2-year-old inside. Police say, the windows were rolled up and the temperature outside was about 80 degrees. The officer reportedly removed the children from the car until 38-year-old Andres Peralta-Escobar came from the store, about 15 minutes later.

Peralta-Escobar was charged with two counts of neglect of a minor and reckless endangerment, and one count of confinement of a child under the age of eight. Peralta-Escobar was released upon his signature pending trial.
