Dorchester Co. increasing lunch prices for 2015-16 school year

The price of school lunches is increasing for this upcoming school year, in one local county.

Dorchester County says school lunches will now cost $0.15 more than last year. This causes an elementary school student’s lunch to go from $2.25 to $2.40, and the middle/high school student’s lunch will increase from $2.50 to $2.65.

Officials say these prices align with those in other districts throughout the state. The change goes into place on August 24, 2015, when students return to school.
