Despite string of robberies Police say Rehoboth is safe

A series of robberies over a three-month span in Rehoboth Beach could have all been done by the same two men according to police.
Delaware State Police told 47 ABC that over the past three months, there were two armed robberies, two strong-armed robberies and one attempted robbery. All five instances, police said, were listed as assault crimes.
Each case involves two black males between 5’7 and 6 feet and weighing between 150 lbs. and 190 lbs, wearing dark clothing. Because all five cases involve the same suspect descriptions, police tell 47 ABC that detective are exploring the possibility that two men are responsible for the crimes.
Despite that, police said citizen of Rehoboth Beach do not need to be worried and should feel safe going out.
“The main thrust or purpose of the press release was to generate tips or any information about the suspects or robberies in that area. People in the area should have a situational awareness and follow prevention strategies to avoid becoming a victim or at least mitigate the potential of becoming a victim,” said Sgt. Richard Bratz, of the Delaware State Police.
Bratz said if you are approached by a potential robber to use mitigating techniques such as, giving the robber whatever they want, not making any sudden movements and trying to remember exactly what the robber looks like.
