Delaware State Fair celebrates National Hotdog Day

Well in addition to Thursday being day one of the Delaware State Fair, it was also National Hotdog Day.
Hotdogs were brought to the United States by German immigrants in the 1800s. Since then, the food has not only become an American staple, but a fair favorite.
Food vendors here say hotdogs will be around all week, and it’s one treat you just can’t seem to go wrong with.
Corey Higman with Little Richards says, “It’s a staple right? It’s quick, it’s cheap, and you can grab one and go. Everyone loves hotdogs. Our specialty is homemade chili. You can do chili dogs, fresh grilled onions and peppers, you can dress them up yourself ketchup mustard however you like them.”
Little Richards tells 47 ABC they sell between five and six hundred pounds of hotdogs during the Delaware State Fair.
