Convicted horse killer files for appeal

The man who was convicted of animal cruelty after killing his miniature horse has filed for an appeal.

John Price was sentenced to a 12 months behind bars with all but one suspended after he killed his horse when it got loose and wandered into a neighbors garden. He was found guilty on charges of reckless endangerment and animal cruelty.

Officials with the Somerset County District Court confirmed to 47 ABC Price is appealing his conviction. We’re told the case now moves to Somerset County Circuit Court.

No word yet on when the appeal will be heard.
