Water tanker over turns while avoiding deer in Greenwood

A tractor trailer overturned on Friday morning, in an apparent attempt to avoid a deer.
Delaware State Police say around 10:30 AM, 62-year-old William Dewey, of Seaford was driving a 2009 Kenworth tractor trailer on Fawn Road, near Sugar Hill Road. According to the report, a deer crossed in front of the tanker, causing Dewey to swerve to avoid it, and go into a ditch on the side of the road. Police say this caused the tractor, and the fully loaded water tanker to overturn in a field.
Dewey, who was reportedly wearing his seat belt, was taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he was treated with non-life-threatening injuries, and released. He was not cited for the crash.
Police say Fawn Road between Sugar Hill Road and Long Branch Road was closed for about three hours, while the crash was investigated, and the truck emptied and up-righted.
