Vacant house fire in Crisfield ruled as arson

Officials are saying arson is to blame for a fire that damaged a vacant home in Crisfield.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says the flames started around 7:25 AM on Sunday, on the porch of the vacant two story Calvary Road home. Five Crisfield Fire Department firefighters responded to the scene after a passerby discovered it, and reportedly had the flames under control in 15 minutes.

Damages are reportedly estimated a $2,000. There were no injuries reported. Investigators say they have ruled the cause as arson, which started on the outside front porch.
