A second man has died from his injuries, following a Pocomoke house fire that took the life of another man earlier in June.

The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office says they are continuing to investigate the June 6th fire that broke out at around 5:00 AM, on Market Street. Twenty four-year-old James Aspdin, was pronounced dead at the scene, while 27-year-old Patrick Richards was initially rushed to Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

Officials say Richards was later air lifted to John Hopkins in Baltimore, where on Monday just before 7:00 AM, he succumbed to his injuries. Both men were from Pocomoke City.

The Fire Marshal’s Office says the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation and the Pocomoke City Police Department, are both assisting in the investigation. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time, according to fire investigators.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Chief Deputy Matthew Owens at 410-632-5666 or via email at mowens@wcfmo.org.
