UPDATE: Police identified victim in fatal Millsboro crash

Police say a Georgetown woman has died, following a single vehicle crash in Millsboro.

Delaware State Police say around 7:30 PM on Monday evening, 22-year-old Jasmine Andrews, of Georgetown, was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus westbound on Mount Joy Road. Police say that it appeared that Andrews was traveling at a high rate of speed.

According to the report, the car reportedly lost traction in a curve in the road, causing Andrews to over correct. Police say the car then spun out, off the roadway, and hit a utility pole on the driver’s side.

Andrews, who was reportedly wearing a seat belt, was trapped in the vehicle. She was later pronounced dead at the scene, from multiple traumatic injuries.

Mount Joy Road between Gravel Hill Road and Doc Frame Road was closed for about three hours, while the crash was investigated and cleared.
