UPDATE: drugs and money found at scene of OC shooting

Ocean City Police are investigating an overnight shooting in the area of 8th Street and Washington Lane.

According to police, around 12:09 AM Wednesday morning, police responded to the area for a reported shooting. As officers arrived, witnesses were reportedly providing first-aid to a man suffering from a gun shot wound to his buttocks.

The victim’s identity has not been released, but we do know he is 21-years-old from Glen Burnie, MD. Police say he was eventually transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center and released shortly after.

An investigation reportedly revealed there was a confrontation between the victim and the suspects and three shots were fired. We’re told the victim was only struck once. Police say the man then made his way to a nearby bus stop where 911 was called.

Police say during the investigation, three bullet casings, drugs, and money were found at the scene.

There are no suspects in custody, and the investigation is ongoing. Police say a lack in cooperation from the victim is causing a delay in the investigation.
