UPDATE: Cove Road beach re-opened for swimming

A popular river beach, that has been closed for nearly a week because of bacteria, has been re-opened.
The Wicomico County Health Department says Cove Road beach is now safe for swimming. Testing has reportedly showed that the bacteria levels have decreased, and are now within the allotted levels of the Maryland Department of Environment.
Officials are reminding visitors to avoid swimming and other contact with water, after heavy rainfall. Cove Road beach had been closed since Friday, due to high levels of bacteria in the water. Roaring Point still remains open for swimming.
