Two arrested in Smyrna for reportedly selling alcohol on Facebook

Two Smyrna residents were arrested on Wednesday, after authorities reportedly found them selling alcohol on Facebook.
The Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement says they got a tip about a man selling alcohol on Facebook, and the tipster even sent a screenshot of the offer. During that investigation, it was reportedly found that 27-year-old Eric Perez, using the alias “Joseph Jackson,” was advertising alcoholic beverages for sale on Facebook through several group pages.
A DATE agent was apparently able to use Facebook to buy an illegal drink from Perez, while undercover.
On Wednesday, DATE with help from Smyrna PD, searched Perez’s East Commerce Street home, and the vehicle that was used for deliveries. Perez, and 32-year-old April Bailey were both arrested at the home, and charged with selling alcoholic beverages without a license, storing alcoholic beverages in a residence with the intent to see, and illegal transportation of alcoholic beverages. They were each later released, pending a future court date.
