The Ocean City Blast At The Beach Is Back On The Shore

The USSSA Ocean City Blast at the Beach is back in Ocean City for the weekend bringing a lot of East Coast talent to the shore.

There are several local teams playing in the tournament – including two teams who played today – the Diamond State Swoop and the Bayside Breeze.

The Swoop –

In their second game of the day, the Swoop took on the Southern Maryland Velocity Friday afternoon. The Velocity took an early lead, and they would add another 2 runs in the last inning of the game. The Swoop looked to rally back in the last inning of the game, but the Velocity closed out the game with a shutout, 4-0 the final.

The Swoop will be back in action on Saturday at 9:00 am vs. Forks Thunder and at 10:30 vs. PA Avalanche – both games are at Pyle Fenway in Roxana, DE.

The Breeze –

The Bayside Breeze’s first game of the day was a success to say at the very least. Two innings in, the Breeze got their bats moving with Hayley Friess starting the rally with a ground roll double – following that play the Breeze brought in 8 runs. Bayside proved to be too much for the Venom with a 12-1 victory.

The Breeze will take the field Saturday at 12:00 pm vs. Alexandria Tsunami and again at 12:30 pm vs. Crushers Fastpitch – both games will be played at Northside Park, Ocean City – Field 3.
